Bodrum Dalyan Tour

  Last Updated: July 7, 2024

Bodrum Dalyan tour is an exciting excursion that takes you to explore the natural beauty and historical landmarks of Dalyan.

There is nothing quite like a good mud bath and here it is. If you would love a day out with a difference, a little bit of fun and a chance to give your skin a little pampering, then Bodrum Dalyan Tour is for you.  The beautiful town of Dalyan with its meandering river, takes you past the ancient 2,000 year old rock tombs of Lycian kings and down to the stunning Iztuzu Beach, where the Caretta Caretta Turtles (and yes that is their name) lay their eggs .

With over 3 kilometres of golden sand to choose from, the turtles lay their eggs at night.  This is a preservation area and any areas where they have lain their eggs are  sectioned off.  You are not allowed to step into the sectioned area.  It is unlikely you will see turtles on the beach as they only lay at night.  However, while you are travelling the waterways of the Dalyan river there is every chance that you will see one or two swimming alongside your boat.

This wonderful tour is coupled with a traditional mud bath.  You’ve guessed it, you cover yourself in mud. Let it dry (do get your photograph taken while you are covered in mud) and then rinse off in the available shower room.  Your skin will thank you for it!  Said to make you look and feel ten years younger, maybe not, but a definite bonus to the condition and feel of your skin.

Bodrum Dalyan Tour Itinerary

Firstly you will be picked up from your Bodrum hotel, by luxury air conditioned transport and begin your drive towards Dalyan.  Pickups are around 06:30 and your return to Bodrum should be about 19:30. Exact times will be confirmed upon booking.

As you enjoy the scenery along the way, you will take a  breakfast and comfort stop in the pretty little town of Gokova.  With a little free time to stretch your legs before heading back to your coach to join the riverboat in Dalyan, waiting for you to take you on an adventure in the reed lined waterways.

With its imposing Lycian rock tombs overseeing the town and river, your guide will give you details of the area’s history. You will then head through the town and down to the water canals that take you to beautiful Iztuzu Beach.  This area has been visited by many a celebrity throughout the years, famed for its outstanding natural beauty and possibly one of the most romantic beaches in the world.

Lunch will be served on board your boat and you will have free time to swim in the waves or simply hire a sunbed and catch some rays, before you head back to the Mud Baths and the ultimate experience of your day.

It is unlikely that you will have seen any turtles on the beach, but do keep an eye out as you glide through the waterways of the Dalyan river.  This is also their natural habitat and a turtle can frequently pop its head out to see if there’s any food for them.

At the mudbaths, you do exactly as it says, coat yourself in delicious mud from head to toe. Once you are fully covered you can stand or lay in the sunshine on the shores of Koycegiz Lake to let it dry. You can wash the mud off easily using the showers provided or get hosed down if you are feeling brave enough!  Afterwards you can take a few minutes in the hot thermal pool to end your treatment.  Don’t be alarmed by the sulphorous aroma coming from the pools, you wont even notice it after a few minutes.  There is no better way to end a perfect day.  Once you are dried off and totally relaxed after your natural mud bath you will head back to the coach and commence your return journey through the mountains towards Bodrum.
