Fethiye Jeep Safari

  Last Updated: July 7, 2024

Fethiye jeep safari is an 8-hour excursion to visit Tlos, Saklikent and Gizlikent with powerful 4×4 Land Rover off-road vehicles.

Undoubtedly, spending part of your holiday at the hotel and on the beach is a fixed programme for any tourist. But is it worth spending all your days doing so? Instead, we suggest you set out on an adventure to discover new and beautiful places. Go on a jeep safari, the most popular tour in Turkey.

We will visit the most exciting places in Fethiye district. The tour’s first destination is the ancient Tlos, which is more than 4 thousand years old (!) and was one of the largest cities in Lycia.

There are many well-preserved ruins in this city, despite its age. You will see cliff tombs, a cemetery, the Seven Doors dome, colonnades, beautiful arches and even entire buildings. There is much to learn, especially as a professional English-speaking guide will accompany you throughout the tour.

On the way to Saklikent, we will visit Yakapark, where we will have a delicious lunch in a colourful local restaurant. This park has picturesque flowering alleys, a variety of waterfalls and pools full of trout. As with our tours, you can choose what to eat – chicken, local fish or vegetarian dishes. After resting, we will embark on a new adventure into the chilly Saklıkent Gorge, a true wonder of nature. It is approximately 18 km long, and the cliffs are 300 metres high. It is the second-largest canyon in Europe!

A spring river flows along its bottom. Direct sunlight almost does not reach it, so even on the most exhausting summer days, this place allows you to relax and rest from the city’s heat. There are 16 caves and waterfalls among the cliffs of Saklikent. The gorge resembles a corridor in a giant castle; imagine walking through it. Saklikent is equipped with unique bridges; you can walk along them or go straight over the water, where the stream is not very strong. You will also have time for a swim. Thrill seekers will enjoy rafting and zip-lining; the mud baths are also waiting for you (all additional entertainment is paid separately on demand).

Both transfers (no minibuses, straight by jeep, to and from the hotel), guide services, insurance, showers and lunch are included in the price of this tour. The tour runs daily, from the morning (around 08:30) until the evening (around 19:00). Let’s go out and have amazing adventures!

What better way to explore the area than sitting in the back of a chauffeur driven all terrain vehicle with the sun on your face and the wind in your hair?  This is exactly what awaits you on the adrenalin packed jeep safari from Fethiye.  You will experience the customised Land Rovers as they take you off road and on road visiting many places of interest, thus keeping the thrill seeker and culture vulture happy!

You will experience the rainbow trout at the Yakapark fish farm and make several stops along the way to Saklikent Gorge where you will be able to be at one with nature in its most rigged form.  Saklikent Gorge offers a wealth of activities for you to have a go at as well as a village atmosphere as local and international tourists bond along the paths built into the side of the gorge.

If you are brave enough you could take the plunge and dive into the freezing cold waters that run off the mountains and down through the gorge.  There are few people that can stand the cold for too long and this might just be the welcome break from the scorching Turkish sun that you have been hoping for!

You will also stop at the ancient city of Tlos where you will be able to see the rock tombs that dot this area of Turkey and date back to the times of Lycia.  You will be able to explore the ruins and get a real feel for the lives that were lived there as you sit in the amphitheatre built for over 20,000 visitors.

All of this combined with riding along in the back of your 4×4 makes for a perfect day out for anyone and everyone.  Singles, couples, families and groups will all have a magical adventure while out on the jeep safari excursion.
