Marmaris Paragliding

  Last Updated: July 12, 2024

If flying like a bird takes your fancy then paragliding is for you!  You will travel to the Paragliding Centre near to Olu Deniz, via the mountain ascent road of Baba Dağ Mountain.  This is the highest point in the area, rightly deserving its name of Father Mountain.  From here you will take the steps that allow you to fly over the Blue Lagoon area of Olu Deniz and where you can marvel at the earth’s arc, as you soar like a bird.  Of course you will not be alone, but paragliding with a professional instructor, flying in tandem with you.

Soaring and lifting with the high thermal winds you will be able to see the point where the Blue Lagoon (or Dead Sea) meets the Azure Mediterranean, with its almost fairytale vista, you might expect to see Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, go sailing below you.  While you gently come to land on Olu Deniz beach, arguably the most beautiful and probably the most photographed beach in Turkey, you will be filled with such  a rush of adrenalin that lasts all day, if not longer.

Marmaris Tandem Paragliding Itinerary

You will start your adventure with an early morning pickup from your Marmaris hotel, by comfortable, air conditioned transport, which will transfer you to the town of Olu Deniz and then on to the Paragliding Centre on Baba Dağ Mountain.

You will meet your professional instructor and co flyer who will give you the safety instructions needed to make the flight.  When you are comfortable with those instructions you will be harnessed and ready to travel in tandem, by taking those few running steps off the mountain.

Your flight over Olu Deniz will offer amazing views unlike any other you are likely to encounter on your holiday.

As the thermals lead you down towards the beach and small town of Olu Deniz, your professional instructor will guide you to landing on the soft sand, often to the applause of sunbathers watching you from the sands.  Take a bow you deserve one.

Once you have landed and are free from your harness, rejoin your group and spend 2 hours free time in the lovely area of Olu Deniz, where you can swim in the Blue Lagoon.  Olu Deniz means Dead Sea and is the Turkish equivalent to the biblical Dead Sea.  The minerals in the lagoon enable you to float easily and even for non swimmers, this is a perfect place to learn.

The small resort of Olu Deniz offers cafes and restaurants in which you can buy a drink and while away the moments reliving your descent, until it is time to return triumphant to Marmaris, during the early evening.
