Perge Aspendos Side from Alanya

  Last Updated: January 24, 2024

Perge Aspendos Side from Alanya is a tour of the ancient world and, at the same time, the sites of the first Christians. Perge is a city that has been ruled by at least four empires. It was ruled by the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines, Alexander the Great stayed here. It was also visited by the first Christian saints. Before the Ottomans, it was ruled by the Seljuk khans. Aspendos is another centre of antiquity. There you can visit one of the largest ancient amphitheatres in the world. It used to hold up to 15000 people at a time.

After lunch, we head to Side, the ghost town, as it has been called, which dates back to the 7th century BC. Then we will visit Manavgat, its 40-meter waterfall, see ancient buildings (Roman baths, ancient and later sanctuaries, and much more).

A professional English-speaking guide will give you a tour of all the places visited. Impressed with the history and the view of these fascinating sites, we will set off on our return journey in a comfortable bus. Entrance fees, both transfers, guide accompaniment and lunch are included in the tour price. We recommend that you make reservations for this tour well in advance.

With perhaps only 14 days of your holiday, you may wonder which tour to choose and with so many  ancient sites in this region, this may be a difficult task.  Well, wonder no more.  This three city tour takes you to Perge, Aspendos and Side three of the main regions of well preserved antiquity in this area, and all in the same day.

You will have the chance to see the ancient but fully functional amphitheatre at Aspendos, and quite literally, step back in time. In Side you can visit the Temple of Apollo and have free time discovering the ancient and modern side by side and, in Perge, you can walk the Roman streets of the ancient city and marvel at its statues and intact roadways.

As if this wasn’t enough to keep you interested, you will end the day at Kurşunlu Waterfalls, and if the water count is low, Manavgat Waterfalls.  Both Falls are renowned for their beauty, in fact some people choose only the falls to spend the day.

Even though this is at the end of your tour, just to see the foaming water as it breaks on the lake is  a most relaxing way to close your tour, and of course you will also have the benefit of trying an authentic Turkish lunch before you head off to Side. Along the way your guide will give you any information and be able to answer your questions, should you have any.
