Not all tours are for the daytime and this tour is no exception.  Proving that Cappadocia is equally as alluring at sunset as it is at sunrise and through the hours of daylight, a walking tour through the Red and Rose Valley with their shades of red and gold, with a prequel visit to the wineries of the area, could be the most peaceful way to end a day of Anatolian sunshine.

With your English speaking guide to lead the way, you will learn how the famous Cappadocia wines have been made the same way for over 4,000 years.  It is matured in caves as opposed to barrels, and made by a people proud of this history.  When you couple wine with locally made crisp green olives and delicious cheese, you are sure to form a memorable evening, one whose memories will remain with you for a long time, if not always.

Cappadocia Wine Tasting Tour Itinerary

Your evening will start with meeting your guide at your hotel.  Once you have been greeted by your English speaking guide for the evening you will head towards the wineries.  There you will learn how the wines have been made and matured in the same way throughout time, and also be allowed to sample several of the wines.  These samples will be accompanied by local snacks.

When you are ready to leave you will be given the option of purchasing a bottle or two of your favourites, and with the purchase of olives and cheese from the local market, you will begin your sunset walk through the Red and Rose valleys, admiring the shades as the sun begins to set.  You will set a leisurely pace and the walk lasts about one hour.

Your guide will lead you through the rock formations to the spot where you can best take advantage of the sunset.  There you can pop the cork on your wine, share snacks and a glass of wine, tasting red (or white) Cappadocia wine and toast the setting sun as it drops behind the mountains of Goreme.  Your guide will then take you to your waiting transport and back to your hotel, your senses filled with the views of a lifetime.

What is in the ticket price?

Included in the price are an English speaking guide service and a transfer return at the end of the tour.  Your entrance fees into the winery are also included along with 3 – 4 local wine samples and local snacks.

What is not included?

Should you wish to purchase any additional wine and snacks for the sunset toast this cost will be your responsibility.  Any other personal purchases are not included.  You may wish to budget for small gratuities.

Anything particular i need to take with me?

You should wear comfortable footwear for the sunset walk and bring with you, your spending money and camera. If you are bringing younger children with you it may be an idea to bring some soft drinks along too.

When does this tour go?

Every evening.  Times may vary as do the hours of sunset.  You will be notified the day before your tour as to the pickup time from your hotel.

Is it family friendly?

It is indeed.  There is no age restriction for this tour.  Anyone with walking difficulties may use discretion as to whether or not they can manage the tour.

Anything else i need to know before i go?

The tour accommodates up to 12 people only per session and is child and family friendly.

Do take a jacket or shawl along with you for the cooler evenings of late season.  Don’t forget your camera and, one more thing, Cheers! Or Serefe! As they say in Turkey.

Can i do this just me and my partner?
